2026 Budget: Government to Provide 100 New Fire Tenders for Ghana National Fire Service – Finance Minister Ato Forson

Guest House Operator Allegedly Murders Girlfriend in Fanteakwa South, Goes on the Run

Tragedy has struck the quiet town of Ehiamankyene in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region, where a man known popularly as "James Bond" is on the run after allegedly murdering his girlfriend at his guest house. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after the deceased visited the suspect at his BJ Tech Guest House and failed to return home. Concerned by her unexplained absence, the young woman's family launched a search. Their worst fears were confirmed when her younger brother discovered her lifeless body in a pool of blood inside the guest house. Families of El‑Wak Stampede Victims to Receive Automatic Military Enlistment – Deputy Minister of Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi

In a compassionate gesture to honor the memory of the six young women who tragically lost their lives during the military recruitment stampede at El-Wak Stadium, the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, has announced that each bereaved family will be granted the opportunity to have one qualified relative enlisted into the Ghana Armed Forces. The Deputy Minister made this revelation during a government delegation’s visit to the family of one of the deceased applicants in Mankessim, Central Region. The visit formed part of the government’s broader efforts to console and support the grieving families following the unfortunate incident. According to him, the initiative is a symbolic way to honor the aspirations of the victims, who had dreamed of serving their country through the military. “Though we cannot bring them back, we want to ensure that their dreams are not buried with them,” he said.

‘Boycott Parliament if Alexander Afenyo‑Markin Faces Privileges Committee’ — Peoples National Party (PNP) Urges Minority

The Peoples National Party (PNP) has called on the Minority Caucus in Parliament to boycott proceedings if Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo‑Markin is referred to the Privileges Committee.  In a statement dated Wednesday, November 12 2025, and signed by its Chairperson Janet Nabla, the PNP accused the Majority Caucus of attempting to suppress the Minority’s voice by pushing for Afenyo‑Markin’s appearance before the committee.  The call follows a petition from Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga to Speaker Alban Bagbin, requesting that Afenyo‑Markin be referred to the Privileges Committee for allegedly defying a parliamentary resolution. POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTS, RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE AFTER ROBBERY AT MPATASIE IN ASHANTI REGION

  The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery and carjacking incident that occurred at Mpatasie, near St. Anthony Hospital in the Ashanti Region. The suspects — 30-year-old Issaka Jamal and 40-year-old Kwadwo Badu — were apprehended on Friday, November 8, 2025, along the Ofankor-St. John's stretch of the Accra-Nsawam Highway, while attempting to flee from law enforcement. During the arrest, one of the suspects sustained a gunshot wound and the other suffered minor injuries. Both are currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital. According to preliminary investigations, the suspects and their accomplices carried out an armed robbery on Thursday, November 7, 2025, targeting two individuals traveling in an unregistered silver Hyundai Tucson (DV-5357-Z).   Tensions within the Effutu Constituency NDC boiled over on Saturday, 8th November 2025, when the party’s 2020 and 2024 parliamentary candidate, Dr. James Kofi Annan, openly refused to shake hands with the current Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah, during a funeral in Winneba. The incident occurred at the final rites of David Nenyi Bonney, a dedicated NDC member and younger brother of the Effutu NDC Youth Organizer, Albert Nana Banyin Bonney. As the MCE approached to greet Dr. Annan, he stood in front of him for nearly 30 seconds, attempting to engage in conversation. PAC refers UEW management to AG over GH₵28m honorarium payment

  The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has referred the University of Ghana, Legon (UG), and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), to the Attorney-General for prosecution over alleged financial malfeasance and the expenditure of unapproved public funds. According to the 2022 Auditor-General’s Report, 15 staff members from the two universities were implicated in unauthorized disbursements made without proper justification or documentation. Vice Chairman of the Committee, Davis Opoku, also expressed concern over persistent student complaints regarding delays in the release of semester results at some public universities. Responding to the issue, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, attributed the delays to staff attrition and slow replacement processes. Hon. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey Donates GH₵90,000 to Support Agona West Fire Service

  In a significant move to boost emergency response in the Agona West Constituency, Member of Parliament Hon. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey has donated GH₵90,000 to the Ghana National Fire Service. The donation, made through a delegation led by Alex Asiedu Sekorme the Agona West NDC Constituency Chairman, officially presented to the Agona West Fire Station. The cheque was received by DOII Abdul Wasiu Hudu, who represented the Fire Service during the brief ceremony. According to officials, the funds will be used to repair the constituency’s faulty fire tender and purchase a new engine.
