Hon. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey Donates GH₵90,000 to Support Agona West Fire Service

In a significant move to boost emergency response in the Agona West Constituency, Member of Parliament Hon. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey has donated GH₵90,000 to the Ghana National Fire Service.

The donation, made through a delegation led by Alex Asiedu Sekorme the Agona West NDC Constituency Chairman, officially presented to the Agona West Fire Station. The cheque was received by DOII Abdul Wasiu Hudu, who represented the Fire Service during the brief ceremony.

According to officials, the funds will be used to repair the constituency’s faulty fire tender and purchase a new engine. The fire tender had been out of service since March 2025, posing a serious challenge to effective fire response in Agona West and neighboring communities.

“This gesture is not just about restoring equipment — it’s about restoring confidence and ensuring the safety of lives and property in our communities,” one fire officer remarked during the handover.

The Fire Service expressed deep appreciation to the MP, describing the intervention as timely and critical to their operations. They noted that the restored fire tender will significantly improve their capacity to respond swiftly to emergencies.

Hon. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey’s initiative underscores her commitment to strengthening local institutions and safeguarding constituents. Residents have lauded her for the leadership and foresight shown, especially in a time where many communities face challenges due to inadequate firefighting equipment.

The repaired fire tender is expected to return to service in the coming weeks.
