HOSA 95 Marks 30th Anniversary with Dinner and Teacher Awards in Swedru

 

Swedru, Ghana – The 1995-year group of Swedru Happy Home Preparatory School, known as HOSA 95, came together to celebrate 30 years since completing their Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E).

Though the school is no longer in operation, the spirit of unity and gratitude among former students remains strong. The celebration was held at the newly opened Greenland Lounge in Swedru and brought together many members from both home and abroad.

The group marked the occasion with a special anniversary dinner, a time for reconnecting, celebrating milestones, and reflecting on their journey since JSS. A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards to past teachers, in appreciation of their role in shaping the group’s early education.

One of the teachers honored during the night was Mr. Mensah, who received a special award and an undisclosed cash gift for his impact and service.

The event was emceed by Paparazzi, Brands & Marketing Manager of Osimpam 95.5 FM, who brought energy and flair to the celebration.

Key leaders present included: George Amusah Bello, President of HOSA 95 Yaw Agbe Lawson, Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee  

The group also sent greetings to members abroad who couldn’t attend but continue to contribute actively.

This 30th anniversary celebration was more than a reunion — it was a moment of gratitude, honor, and renewed connection, celebrating a legacy that began three decades ago at Swedru Happy Home Preparatory.

Agona Nyakrom Deserves District Status – Okofo Okatakyi Nyarko Eku X, Appeals to President Mahama

  Agona Nyakrom Tradtional Area has successfully concluded its annual Akwanbo Festival 2025 with a strong call from its traditional leader for greater recognition and development. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Salvaging Declining Social Values: A Shared Responsibility of Government & Traditional Rulers.” The week-long event drew thousands of indigenes, visitors, and dignitaries, filling the town with cultural display, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose. During the grand durbar, Omanhen of Agona Nyakrom, Okofo Okatakyi Nyarko Eku X, used the occasion to make a heartfelt appeal to the government. Winneba: Police foil attempted robbery at bank

  The Anti-Armed Robbery Response Unit (AARU) of the  Ghana Police Service  has foiled an attempted robbery at the Microfin Rural Bank in Winneba, Central Region. Police said at about 1am on Friday, August 15, 2025, the bank’s alarm was triggered, drawing the attention of a patrol team on duty. The team, sensing unusual activity, proceeded to the bank to investigate. “On reaching the location, they were met with sporadic gunshots from the robbers. After a brief exchange of fire, the gang bolted, leaving behind one pump-action gun and other implements,” the police stated. The AARU team retrieved the weapon together with an empty cartridge from the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that about five armed men were involved.
