"We Have Big, Big P-nis to Show We're Also Men" – Effutu NPP Chairman Responds to Azorka's Remarks

Effutu NPP Chairman, Mr. Kofi Kwayira, has delivered a passionate rebuttal to comments made by NDC National Vice Chairman, Chief Sofo Azorka, during the Akwatia by-election on September 2, 2025. Azorka had criticized Minority Leader and Effutu MP, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, for his unannounced visit to the NDC party office in Akwatia, labeling it as "highly disrespectful" and "provocative."

Azorka further alleged that members of Afenyo-Markin's entourage removed NDC campaign posters during the visit. He warned that if he had been present during the incident, "a by-election would be held in Effutu," implying a threat to the Effutu MP.

In response, during a press conference, Effutu NPP Chairman, Supi Kofi Kwayira defended Afenyo-Markin, stating that the allegations were unfounded. He emphasized that the Effutu MP's supporters did not engage in any misconduct during the visit.

 Addressing Azorka's comments, Kwanyira remarked:

"We want to tell Sofo Azorka that he is not the only man. We are men. We have big, big penis to show that we are also men."

As of now, neither Chief Sofo Azorka nor the NDC has issued an official response to the NPP's concerns

The incident has heightened political tensions between the NPP and NDC, with both parties calling for restraint and adherence to democratic principles.

The Ghana Police Service has been urged to investigate the matter to maintain peace and order in the country.

The by-election was necessitated by the death of NPP MP Ernest Kumi on July 7, 2025. Bernard Bediako Baidoo of the NDC won the seat, defeating NPP's Solomon Asumadu after the by-election
