Agona Mankrong Chiefs Demand Apology from NPP Officials Over Unauthorized Visit to Ayensu River

Traditional leaders of Agona Mankrong in the Agona East District of the Central Region are demanding an official apology from two members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) — Mr. Miracles Aboagye and Mr. Paul Yandoh — for what they describe as a disrespectful act.

According to the chiefs, the two political figures visited the sacred Ayensu River and conducted interviews there without first seeking permission or notifying the custodians of the land and its traditions.

The traditional authorities view this action as a clear disregard for the customs and protocols of the land, especially considering the cultural and spiritual significance of the Ayensu River to the people of Agona Mankrong.

In a strongly worded statement, the chiefs stressed that while political or media engagements are welcome in the community, they must be done with due respect for traditional structures and values.

They are therefore calling on Mr. Aboagye and Mr. Yandoh to render an official apology to the traditional council and the people of Agona Mankrong to help restore calm and mutual respect.

More updates will follow as the story develops.
