Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI Donates to Agona Nyakrom Health Project, Chairs 2025 Akwanbo Durbar

 

The Paramount Chief of Assin Kushea, Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI, has demonstrated strong leadership and support for community development by donating 200 bags of cement (worth GHC 20,000) and GHC 5,000 in cash to support the expansion of the Agona Nyakrom Health Facility.

He made this announcement while serving as Chairman of the Grand Durbar of the just-ended Agona Nyakrom Akwanbo Festival 2025. In his remarks, Ehunabobrim expressed his sincere gratitude to Omanhen of Agona Nyakrom, Okofo Okatakyi Nyarko Eku X, for the honor of chairing such a significant cultural and developmental event.

This year’s Akwanbo Festival was uniquely positioned to raise funds for the expansion of the Nyakrom Health Facility, which is set to include a male ward, female ward, dental unit, and other essential amenities to improve healthcare delivery in the area.

The festival was held under the theme - “Salvaging Declining Social Values: A Shared Responsibility of Government & Traditional Rulers.”

Ehunabobrim applauded the Nyakrom Traditional Area for choosing such a timely theme and stressed the importance of youth respecting traditional authority, elders, and cultural values, as these are foundational to national development.

The event drew large crowds, symbolizing unity, progress, and a renewed commitment to community transformation through tradition and leadership.

  Agona Nyakrom Tradtional Area has successfully concluded its annual Akwanbo Festival 2025 with a strong call from its traditional leader for greater recognition and development. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Salvaging Declining Social Values: A Shared Responsibility of Government & Traditional Rulers.” The week-long event drew thousands of indigenes, visitors, and dignitaries, filling the town with cultural display, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose. Winneba: Police foil attempted robbery at bank

  The Anti-Armed Robbery Response Unit (AARU) of the  Ghana Police Service  has foiled an attempted robbery at the Microfin Rural Bank in Winneba, Central Region. Police said at about 1am on Friday, August 15, 2025, the bank’s alarm was triggered, drawing the attention of a patrol team on duty. The team, sensing unusual activity, proceeded to the bank to investigate. “On reaching the location, they were met with sporadic gunshots from the robbers. After a brief exchange of fire, the gang bolted, leaving behind one pump-action gun and other implements,” the police stated. The AARU team retrieved the weapon together with an empty cartridge from the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that about five armed men were involved.
