Wa, UWR: Fulani Man Suffers Leg Fracture in Traffic Light Collision Involving RAV4 and Motorbike
A Fulani man believed to be in his early 40s sustained serious injuries after being involved in a motor accident at the main traffic light intersection in Wa, Upper West Region.
The incident occurred when the victim, who was riding an Apsonic Aloba motorbike with registration number UW-87-2024, collided with a Toyota RAV4, registration number AS 218-14.
Eyewitnesses reported that the RAV4 was heading from Dodoo Street toward the MTN office, while the motorbike rider approached the intersection from Tendaamba Crescent, near Kambali. In an attempt to beat the red light, the rider reportedly sped toward Dodoo Street.
The collision happened just as the traffic light turned green for the RAV4. The impact caused the motorbike rider to suffer a fractured leg.
Police from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) quickly arrived at the scene and called for an ambulance to assist the injured rider.
The accident has sparked fresh concerns about traffic rule enforcement and the risks of speeding at intersections.
