“Come prepared; to raise funds for health facility expansion,” - Tufuhen Nana Osei Bonsu III

At the official launch of the 2025 Agona Nyakrom Akwambo Festival, Tufuhen, Chairman of the Akwambo Planning Committee, Nana Osei Bonsu III, passionately called on all citizens to “come prepared”—not just to celebrate, but to contribute meaningfully to community development.

He revealed that this year’s festival will focus on raising funds to expand the Agona Nyakrom Health Facility, with plans to construct a Male Ward, Female Ward, Children’s Ward, Dental Clinic, and more to enhance healthcare access in the town.

“Come prepared; to raise funds for health facility expansion,” he urged.

Nana Tufuhen extended his appeal to Agona Nyakrom citizens in the diaspora, asking them to come to the aid of their hometown. He also urged all local groups, including churches, business owners, entrepreneurs, and associations, to fully involve themselves in this year’s festival and help achieve the development goals.

The launch, held on Saturday, 28th June 2025, was chaired by Mrs. Essiamah and co-chaired by Mr. Kwesi Adokoh Blankson, with Queen Mothers, sub-chiefs, Asafo companies, dignitaries, and citizens in attendance.

Akwambo, meaning “clearing of the path,” comes from a tradition where forest trails were cleared annually for emergency use during wartime. Today, the festival symbolizes unity, readiness, and a shared journey toward progress.

In closing, Omanhene Okofo Katakyi Nyarko Eku X, chiefs, and the Traditional Council extended an open invitation to all—home and abroad—to participate in this year’s Akwambo Festival and support its purpose.

Main Celebration: 2nd to 10th August 2025

Come prepared. Let’s build Nyakrom together.
