NDC MPs Pay Emotional Tribute to Hon. Mrs. Queenstar Maame Pokua Sawyerr Following Husband's Sudden Passing

A delegation of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs), led by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, paid a heartfelt commiseration visit to Hon. Mrs. Queenstar Maame Pokua Sawyerr, the Member of Parliament for Obaatanpa, following the sudden passing of her husband, Mr. Bernard Olu Sawyerr, in the early hours of Tuesday, 3rd June 2025.

The delegation, which included prominent NDC MPs such as Hon. Rockson Dafeamekpor, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, and Hon. Samuel Oscar Mensah, among others, met with the bereaved family, offered condolences, and signed the Book of Condolences. They also presented an envelope as a token of their support.

  The Agonaman Traditional Council has firmly addressed recent developments in Agona Abodom, declaring that there is currently no officially recognized chief in the town. At a press conference held at the Agona Nyakrom Palace, the Council described the individual currently parading himself as chief of Agona Abodom as an imposter, emphasizing that he has not been accepted or sworn in by the Agona Nyakrom Traditional Council, as custom requires.
