Effutu Mp, Hon. Afenyo-Markin Provides Free Transportation for BECE Candidates
The Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency and Minority Leader in the 9th Parliament of Ghana, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has once again demonstrated his commitment to supporting students in his constituency. This year, he has provided complimentary buses to transport Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates from various schools in Effutu to the Winneba Senior High School exam center.
This gesture is part of Hon. Afenyo-Markin's annual tradition of supporting BECE candidates in Effutu. By providing transportation, he aims to alleviate the stress and challenges that students might face in getting to their exam centers, allowing them to focus on their exams.
While providing this support, Hon. Afenyo-Markin also took the opportunity to wish the candidates the best of luck in their exams. He expressed his confidence in their abilities and encouraged them to stay focused and perform to the best of their potential.
This year's BECE cohort in Effutu consists of 1,584 candidates, comprising 778 boys and 806 girls from 57 schools. The breakdown includes:
- Private Schools: 33
- Public Schools: 24
The complimentary transportation service is expected to greatly benefit the students, particularly those who might have struggled with transportation costs or logistics. By removing this barrier, Hon. Afenyo-Markin's initiative will enable the students to focus on their exams and perform to the best of their abilities.
