Dada KD to Be Laid to Rest on August 16 in State-Assisted Funeral
Ghana is set to bid farewell to one of its most beloved highlife icons, Dada Kweku Duah aka Dada KD, in a state-assisted funeral on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The final rites will be held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra, where dignitaries, musicians, fans, and loved ones will gather to honour his legacy.
Following the funeral service, Dada KD will be laid to rest in his hometown, Agona Asaaman, in the Central Region. A thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, August 17, to celebrate his life and contribution to Ghanaian music.
The funeral arrangements were officially announced during his one-week memorial, held at the East Legon Executive Club, which saw the presence of fellow musicians, public figures, and scores of grieving fans.
Mourners are expected to wear black and white in tribute to the late singer, who sadly passed away on May 17, 2025, after a short illness. His death came just days before he was scheduled to perform in London, marking a painful end to a vibrant career.
Dada KD’s music and voice will forever remain in the hearts of Ghanaians.
Rest in peace, legend.
