A Warning to Ladies with Cornrow Hairstyles

In my recent interview with mental health professional Mr. Samuel Aketewa from the Winneba Health Service Centre's Psychiatric Unit shed light on the crucial issue of tackling mental health and stigma. One crucial point he raised was the importance of awareness and caution for ladies with cornrow hairstyles.
Mr. Aketewa warned, "Ladies with Cornrow hairstyle should be very careful with mentally ill persons because some has visual hallucination." He explained that individuals with mental health conditions may experience visual hallucinations, seeing things differently from reality. In some cases, they may perceive a cornrow hairstyle as a snake, leading them to react violently, thinking they are killing a snake.

Mr. Aketewa's warning serves as a reminder of the importance of understanding and empathy towards individuals struggling with mental health conditions. Ladies with cornrow hairstyles are advised to exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings, especially around individuals who may be experiencing visual hallucinations.
Let us strive to create a society that supports mental health awareness and understanding, breaking down stigmas and promoting empathy. By doing so, we can ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals, regardless of their hairstyle or mental health status.
