Educate Children on Sexual Abuse at Home – Queen Mother Urges Parents
The Queen Mother of the Nsona No.1 Royal Family of Amosima in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District of the Central Region, Nana Aba Egyirba II, who also serves as the founder of the Grace Medical Foundation, has called on parents to actively educate their children about sexual abuse, especially within the home.
She emphasized that many young girls lack proper understanding of what constitutes sexual abuse, making them vulnerable to exploitation by men who prey on their ignorance.
Sharing her own experience, Nana Aba noted that she was fortunate to be raised by parents who exposed her early to these sensitive issues, helping her identify and avoid potential abuse from a young age.
In her role as both a traditional leader and a health advocate, she reaffirmed her commitment to supporting and protecting young girls, particularly those living in rural communities.
Her remarks came after her foundation made a donation of sanitary pads to students of Brafoyaw M.A. Zion School in the AAK District.
The outreach was not only about the donation but also served as a platform to educate students on personal hygiene and the importance of recognizing and reporting sexual abuse
