  Commercial sex workers clash with Sunyani Traditional Council over ban on noise making. Following the announcement of the funeral ceremony of Sunyanimanhene, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri ll, the  Sunyani Traditional Council  has formally declared a one-month ban on making noise in Sunyani. The news was announced at the Sunyani Traditional Council’s emergency meeting, which was held at Sunyani Palace. Residents in the region were asked to follow the guidelines because breaking them could result in serious punishment. However, the Council claimed that commercial sex workers violated the decree by engaging in nighttime activities. The palace wardens personally approached the prostitutes and asked them to halt their services for a time, but they continued their activities. Electrician remanded for alleged murder of his girlfriend. A 38-year-old electrician who has been arrested for allegedly strangling his 20-year-old girlfriend to death at Kpone Bawaleshie in the Greater Accra Region has been remanded by the  Kaneshie District Court . He was then alleged to have had sex with the dead body before burying it in the neighborhood. The accused was arraigned on a provisional charge of murder and had his plea preserved by the court pending further directives on the case docket. There have been several arrests in relation to fake lawyers.   On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, a judge hearing a case in an Amasaman Court ordered the arrest of a ‘fake lawyer’ representing the defendant. This comes after it was uncovered that the 70-year-old Nii Bi Griffiths Dodoo was not listed on the list of solicitors and also belonged to an illegal law firm. A report by the Amasaman Divisional Police said the court’s registrar brought the suspect to their station. “Court registrar arrested to Amasaman Divisional Headquarters, a 70-year-old suspect, Lawyer Nii Bi Griffiths Dodoo, dressed in a wig, a bib and gown with the help of court warrant officers on the orders of the circuit judge. “The suspect lawyer had presented himself as the counsel for a defendant in Suit No. C1/33/2023 titled Rev.   A 40-year-old woman was allegedly  murdered   at Dormaa West in the Bono Region by unidentified assailants. The deceased has been identified as Salamatu Nganga, a trader. Agya Kwame, reporting from the area said, the woman was heard screaming for help in a cocoa farm where she had gone to work. He reported that the woman’s screams drew the attention of some people in the area. She was discovered in critical condition and taken to the hospital. However, she did not survive the attack. Salamatu was stabbed several times, according to the reporter. He also stated that the police have launched an investigation into the matter.

  19-year-old car washer jailed 17 years for stabbing woman over GH¢970 He has been sentenced to 17 years for robbery. He was sentenced to prison by an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs. Afia Owusuaa Appiah for stabbing a woman he robbed and has left her hospitalized in critical condition. The convict, Christopher Amolee, pleaded guilty simpliciter on his first day in court to the charge of robbery contrary to section 149 of the Act 29/60. He was then convicted on his own plea. Reports stated that Amolee committed the act on August 9, 2023, at Sakumono in the Greater Accra Region and made away with his victim's cash of GH¢976. Before sentencing, Amolee who looked sober in the docket narrated what happened but told the court that he did not know what came over him to commit the act.   Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrew, the founder of Life Assembly Worship Centre popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom has said senior members of the Clergy who form the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral are corrupt. According to him, the men of God who are still pursuing the National Cathedral project despite all its controversies as corrupt and fake. "Those pastors on that board who have not resigned, I don't think they are pastors from God or Bible preaching pastors. They are not true men of God, if they were they would see the beginning and end of this project.
